VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
There are lots of fun jobs to do around the boathouse year-round. In addition to paying dues, membership includes an obligation to help maintain the equipment and facilities, contribute to the social events and help coach during Discover Rowing classes. Sign up for

Specific opportunities include the following:
DISCOVER ROWING
Coordinator
- Organize coaches and volunteers for monthly Discover Rowing classes between March and October.
- Communicate with registrants about schedule and expectations.
Volunteers
- Greet students
- Provide snacks and water
- Help with dock rowing
- Practice with students on the water
SAFETY
Coordinator
- Conduct yearly update of safety manual
- Do monthly inventory of first aid kit
- Conduct safety presentation at mandatory member meeting at the beginning of rowing season
- Inspect life vests.
- Serve as point person for any safety related incidents or issues
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Director(s)
- Organize dinners or snacks for monthly meetings
- Plan holiday parties (July 4, Memorial Day, etc.)
- Plan food for Race for the Cure brunch
BIKE TO BOATHOUSE
- Purchase water and snacks for monthly Bike to Boathouse hydration station

Volunteer to man monthly Bike to Boathouse hydration station table
MARKETING
Director
- Coordinate outside events (Erg for the Cure, booths at local expos
- Market Discover Rowing programs
Volunteers
- Help to recruit new and retain old members
- Promote the club at outside events
- Conduct health club demos
- Participate in Erg For the Cure
- Talk up the club!
WEBSITE
Coordinator
- Serve as point person to solve website issues
- Do routine website updates
- Coordinate yearly website review
- Solicit information from members and outside partners as needed
LAUNCH DRIVER
- Drive launch for weekly practices
- Help to develop schedule for launch drivers
Volunteers
- Purchase gas and fill gas tanks for launch

EQUIPMENT
Manager
- Maintain equipment log
- Coordinate repairs
- Purchase new equipment
Volunteers
- Report damage
- Assist with repairs
- Help to maintain equipment (oars, riggers, oarlocks, etc.)
FACILITIES
Manager
- Coordinate Boathouse maintenance with volunteers and city workers
- Ensure that club members are aware of security measures
- Schedule work days to keep boathouse and boatyard clean
Volunteers
- Help during routine cleaning of Boathouse
- Attend scheduled workdays held at least 3x/year
- Report any facility issues to manager
